Food Service Planning
Food is a fundamental part of the campus experience at U-M and provides an essential service to students, faculty, staff and visitors. A food service location is not only a place where all members of the campus community gather, but also a place where the responsibilities of several campus offices and units intersect, including offices in Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Business and Finance.
As food service operations become more integrated into the campus landscape, it is important that each operation is planned and placed strategically and thoughtfully, based on campus needs, potential market demand, ability to be as financially self-sustaining as possible and on overall fit with campus master plans.
This site provides a structured process, tools, and resources to assist General Fund academic and administrative units and units within the Division of Student Affairs in proposing and planning food operations for the Ann Arbor campus.
